Sigh. Here's the scenario: A new EB Games store opens up last week not 5 mins or so from my place and my initial thoughts "Great, a dedicate gamestore really close!" I had thoughts of pre-orders, choice of loads of games, and most of all; selling off my older games.
So today, my day off, I blow in expecting to sell a good number of games (about 21) that I no longer play and would just like to get rid of. Then I start making presumptions on how much I will be getting per game and my first thoughts are like 50% of what it would cost new and with PS3 game's we're talking $30-$40 easy but then I realized that they might not be that high. So I lowered my expectations to a $15-20 range for the PS3 games and $10-15 for the PSP and alloted $10 roughly per PS2 game because god knows they charge enough for their used games ($30-50 PS2 and higher for newer systems). To my shocking dismay, the total of my entire selling group is $117, yep 21 games for $117. My receipt tells me that my PS3 games only fetch $10, my PSP around $5 and PS2 inbetween $1 and $6 ... which is FUCKING RETARDED when considering what they charge for these used games once they re-market them.
So I say FUCK EB GAMES. Fuck them and their gawd damn used game purchasing plan. I can make a lot more than that, hell have paid a lot more than that on EBAY! So, I think that's what I'm going to do! When I get some games I no longer care to own, I'm going to become an ebay seller and hopefully make more than the chicken scraps EB games gave me for my collection.
To TOP it all off, they didn't have any of the 4 games I was looking for. Namely, God of War for the PSP, MLB08 The Show, Army of Two and Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
yeh...EB Games trade-in is a joke. It's not worth your time. I was there on Saturday, they don't have anything yet. Hopefully it will get better but right now it sucks.

The only way you will make money from EB is if you use the edge car when they have a promotion going on. But it does make sense since I have worked there. But I still feel your pain. The inflation of used goods is stupid.
sounds just like GAME, their trade-in thing is utter shit too, I want to trade in a PS2 game that they dont have in their shop, so I thought it must be worth a bit, maybe £15 at the least? and then they say its worth £1.99...and this aint no shit game either, fucking arseholes, £1.99! So what the hell..trade it in anyways, they have basically stolen it from me, and then I come back a week later to see that EXACT game, the one I traded in, with the same little crack of the side of the case, going for £25! Cheeky bastards...

EB and Gamestop are the same right? I usually try not to sell my games, although when I have I got a lot more that you did. I sold FFXII, which I had purchased for 20, for 8.99. But I haven't sold any next gens. My bro tried to take a racing game he had bought for 60.00 back (PS3), and they only gave him 12 (he didn't accept it). But they do have the trade in two used next gens for one new next gen, which is ok.
yeah i use to trade in but not anymore because you dont get much these days yeah abay is probally the best bet these days.
That really sucks. A while back my sister and I took a few old PS games to either an EB Games for a Gamestop, they would only give us about a dollar each. And it would only be store credit! What could we buy with a few dollars? A candy bar? I wish she kept the games though, I don't know why she wanted to get rid of Frogger. And Smurf Racer, that game was so bad it was hilarious. I don't think she even played the Rayman game.
Yeah, I know how you feel. I traded in 2 games in the past with EB games and i got ONE dollar for each. I was really pissed of at them. Those 2 dollars that i got for each barely covered the tax on a game that I bought that same day.
