| Trophies |

Sony has rolled out trophy support for it's PS3 a while ago and it's been somewhat of a slow process getting rolling with games that support them. I've realized that with games that were nearing completion, simply adding trophies might be a lot of work and didn't get too upset if one game didn't include them. Sure, I would love if every dev went back in slapped in support for each and every game... but what ya gonna do? :P

I've got a few games right now that either have trophies implemented or plan on having them soon in a patch. None of which I've gotten updated to use said trophies yet but as soon as I get them patched they'll be ready to go. Uncharted: Drakes Fortune was one of the first to announce their support for it and I've been holding off a second play through because of that. As soon as I get the patch I will be playing it again. Burnout Paradise also has a patch for trophies and I though they announced they would prob be retroactive (able to just add trophies according to how much you've already done) - it turns out it won't be. If I want the easier trophies it seems I'll have to restart the game... which sounds shitty, but burnout is so fun I don't think I'll mind - if I decide to do so. BattleField: Bad Company is also getting a patch, look forward to that as well.

The thing that got me excited tho, is the fact that a large number of games I'm currently anticipating are getting trophies right from the get go! In the next month or so Little Big Planet, MotorStrom: Pacific Rift, Resistance 2, Rockband2 and Mirrors Edge will be shipping - all including trophies. Brothers in Arms is said to support them and that game has be interested - and Killzone2 in Feb will have them as well. So before long, I will be a slave of trying to get those platinum trophies.

There are 4 different kinds of trophies, from easy ones in Bronze to a medium Silver and the Hard Gold trophies. The last, Platinum, is only achieved if every other trophy in the game is collected and thus represents and insane like achievement.

| Now Playing |

I'm playing a few games at the moment. I think I've mentioned it in my past blog post, that I've gotten back into DiRT and I'm progressively finishing races, collecting vehicles and more or less doing my best to finish the game - and it's a blast! Nothing like leaving a game alone, coming back and enjoying the hell out of it! :D

Beat Bioshock (PC) - Amazing game!

Gave up on Elven Blood (facebook) due the fact that I needed to continually add party members and hassling people to add the app gets old, quick. Suffice to say, it's a well thought out app except for that part - it prevents those who can't get others to play from progressing in the story.

Before playing some rockband 2 (which seems like a great upgrade from RB1) my cousin and I threw in "Fight Night Round 3" and had a round or two which just grabbed me and hooked me in! I went shopping a few days later and found a copy for my PS3. It's such a fun game :D

Also, got Lego Batman(PS3) - of which I've been waiting for, for quite a while. It rawks. It's the same ol Lego formula and I love the batman universe and thus it feels much kewler to play that something like lego star wars - of which I'm not a huge fan.

Another steal (thanks SuperStore :P) is Spider-Man3 (PS3) that I snatched up. It's rather ugly - graphically - seems to have its share of hang ups and glitches but its a lot of fun swinging and fighting as the ol Spider. It gets bonus points for getting Bruce Campbell as the Narrator.

Lastly, I picked up a copy of this month's PC gamer and with it I got a number of Demos. Including a wacky fun racer "Track Mania Nations" and a trial for Spore's Creature Creator! The Spore CC is amazing! It really made me want the game - I will prob get it sometime. Here's some picks of a few creatures I've made:

Never got around to deciding on headphones, so it's still up in the air. I have no idea when I'll get around to getting a new pair, but I also want to take my time and get a really awesome pair. Still open for suggestions for anyone who's got any. Read my previous post for info on what I'm looking for.

Lol, I know I still havn't rolled out one of those "What happened" features yet, I swear I'll get to it. :P

Need Headphone advice

I've been searching for some time for a great "mid ranged" headphone set in the "over the ear" style - that can offer some decent audio quality on all ranges (especially bass) in a comfy to wear set that doesn't include a 6' cord as it's only option. I will be using it on my computer as well as on the go with my Ipod.

Currently I have two pairs of headphones:

The first is a pair of over the Head/Ear style by Sony named: MDR-XD100 which I picked up a few years ago for like $20 and are fairly decent headphones, tho lack a bit in the deep bass I like and never seem to get as loud as I like either.

The second pair are a "around the head" style (goes behind your head instead of on top) by Panasonic; named "Shockwave RP-HG15" and is just about the best pair I have ever owned. Only about $20 as well, they're about 6-8 years old (forget how long now) and I have just replaced the rotted foam covers (that go on the ear) thanks to an ol crappy pair I had lying around. They've got really good sound on all ranges but can be uncomfy to wear at times.

Now, what I'm looking for in a new set is an over the head/ear set (like the Sony ones I have) with great sound on all ranges (including deep bass) and without the 6' cable. I hate lugging around a pair of headphones with cables that I have to tie together with elastics and such, I'd much rather the 2 or 3 ft cables of most normal portable headphones. I don't like in the ear headphones, so don't even mention those.

I've been looking into Sennheiser's products, as I've heard they do quality stuff and am thinking about the HD-280 Pro series but I'm still unsure.

Just want to know if any of you have insight on the subject, perhaps can offer some suggestions? I'm looking to spend upwards of $100, but really not much more. I've seen a lot of kewl sets that I wouldn't mind having but I think over $100 for them is retarded - heck I think it's kinda crazy to pay $100 for a set, but I'm willing to do so.

Trade-Ins, Completions, Anticipations

In this Blog:

[Trade-Ins] - Detailing some trade-ins I've made.
- Some stuff I've purchased.
[Completing games]
- Games I've gone through lately.
- Games I can't wait for.
[Final Notes]
- My final last bit of crap.

**Note the different style/layout. I plan on breaking stuff up, so you can decide what, if any, you want to read and skim what you don't or w/e.

First off, Vacations rawk! I love not having to keep much of a schedule at all, this 2 weeks off of work has been awesome. Some times a bit boring but I love the relaxation. Started it with a nice B-day bash at my cousin's place and then a wedding (oh which I felt like shit the whole time through :( ), got to see some old friends and more or less just chill - having time to do a little shopping, gaming, movie watching and so forth. As far as I know, I don't head back until Monday (the 8th of Sept I believe), so I'm going to continue to enjoy it.

Like I said, I got to do a little shopping. Little odds and ends, random bits and bolts it seems :D I went off to EBgames to trade in some games - yeah I know I said I wouldn't again... but it seemed like much less a hassle than ebay. Which BTW I finially used to sell a game! TES4 Oblivion for the PS3 was shipped off to a nice dude from Quebec for about $30 bones which isn't too bad at all considering I got a copy of the GOTY (Game of the Year) edition (includes all of the normal edition stuff plus the shivering isles addon) for like $45. Anyways, back to EBgames. I took in a nice grocery bag full of crap, not all of which they wanted. :P I sold them:

Army of Two (PS3)
Haze (PS3)
The Simpsons Game (PS3)
Dark Angel (PS2)
Beast Wars (PS1)
Fusion Frenzy (Xbox)

and got about $70 for it all. Which I then took and spent on:

BattleField: Bad Company (PS3)
NBA Street: Homecourt (PS3)

Both pretty kewl games, a decent deal IMO, cuz the games I traded in were more/less bad lol.

Through Bargain bin diving, random window shopping and ebay I managed to blow a shit load of money it seems? Ha, actually, a lot of these items are purchased mainly because I find them for cheap, or at least relatively cheap. Most of these items were purchased in the last month or so:

[$9] Syberia DVD pack (PC)
[$3] Paradise (PC)
[$34] Brave Story: A New Traveler (PSP)
[$22] Guild Wars (PC)
[$2] Advent Rising (Xbox)

[$4] 50 First Dates (DVD)
[$4] Harold & Kumar go to White Castle (DVD)
[$24] Birds of Prey Complete Series (DVD)
[$35] The Nightmare Before Christmas (Blu-Ray)
[$15] The Fifth Element (Blu-Ray)
[$16] HellBoy (Blu-Ray)
[$18]Batman Begins (Blu-Ray)
[$18] Pan's Labryinth (Blu-Ray)
[$19] Blade Runner (Blu-Ray)
[$26] DragonBall Z Season 4 (DVD)

[$22]Slipknot's "All Hope is gone" (CD)

Thoughts: The abundance of Blu-Rays in the list is more or less just me catching up on some great movies in HD. I've been meaning to get a number of the titles for a while now, but just never got around to it, now I have. The highlight being The Nightmare Before Christmas which I would of paid $50 for if they charged it! Frack I love that movie! Got DBZ S4 for like 1/2 the price that it usually sells for and a few other DVDs that I just happened to like and found dirt cheap. Found Paradise for a few bucks and then it reminded me of Syberia of which I've been looking for the sequel for a LONG time, found it, bought it (ebay) and was happy :D Wanted a new RPG for my PSP and after some research decided on Brave Story - still waiting for it via ebay. Also got guild wars on the note that it works on dial up!? Heard lots of people say it works flawlessly on dialup... so what the hell eh? Decided to give er a try. Got a copy of the GOTY on route from ebay for around $20. I've been wanting to play Advent Rising for a while now, got a 'Still in the package' copy at ebgames for $1.99! Last is Slipknot's New CD "All hope is gone" which is alright, a little too soft for my liking. Seems Corey is stuck on the Stone Sour tone of music for some of the songs and... I really just want some head banging tunes when I listen to slipknot.

[//Completing Games]
Like I've mentioned, this lil vacation has given me a lot of time to finish up and beat some games. I've started and finished Advent Rising (Xbox) and absolutely loved it! Sad the series died before it got off the ground, I would of loved to see the sequels! I also started and beat BattleField: Bad Company (PS3)- and it was a blast! So much destruction!! I'm at the very (I think) end of Crisis Core (PSP) and hope to jump into that again. Finished off the modes in DragonBall Z Shin Budokai & DarkStalker's Chronicle Tower both on the PSP. Got a good portion of Escape from Butcher's Bay (Xbox) finished (another amazing game BTW). Got a lot of the goods in Soul Calibur 4 (PS3) unlocked - including all the characters, levels. Fable (xbox) is done. About 60% done of Lego Star Wars (PS3), just started Doom3(xbox) and I'm about 1/2 way through another play through of MGS4 (PS3).

Enjoying the craziness of NBA Street Homecourt (PS3), loving my new pc adventure games - Syberia 2 and Paradise and dive into a lot of different games almost randomly. I still havn't gotten though a lot of Gears of War on the PC, as I had to update 3 times now to get it to work :( But I plan on getting it done one of these days.

What started out as a simple notepad txt file to keep track of some games coming out in the future... has grown into a somewhat complicated list of just what I have in mind for future game purchases. Check it out:

[//Final Notes]
Ahh, a mighty blog no? :P Please let me know what you think of the layout, whether or not it helps in organizing the content and so on. I plan on getting heavy into Guild Wars, if I can - so, if you play hit me up when I do get the game (its coming from ebay) and we'll play (hopefully).

Also, I've got at least 2 more ideas for the "What Happened" feature I introduced last blog, expect to see Vol2 some time in the near future.
