To start off, I've gotta hand credit to Ryan (aka - ShootumUP26) for the idea, I rather enjoyed his view on what weapons were kick ass in his mind... but my taste differed so completely that we didn't have any in common... and thus here we are :P
This is also, hopefully, the first of more blogs that will be more light-hearted and fun as opposed to me just waiting months and slapping down a blog filled with a bunch of random stuff I've collected up since my last blog post. Gonna see how this pans out and hopefully make a bit more interesting read.
Without further delay:
My 5 favorite FPS weapons:
5. Shotgun - Doom
Ahh the shotgun from doom :) Probably my best friend through out the first game and other games in the series. It would make quick work of any peon soldier or imp and nearly as quickly bring other enemies to a level I felt comfortable with (read - a pile of goo on teh floor). I generally don't care too much for shotguns in shooters... as it means lots of close combat... I'm more of an assault rifle kind of gamer and thus, Doom's shotgun should be given props for being that much kewler to top other guns for the 5th spot.
4. RCP-120 Assualt Rifle - Perfect Dark
Speaking of Assault Rifles! We have the successor to goldeneye's RCP-90, Perfect Dark's RCP-120 which packs a bigger clip, better looks, a steady fire rate with little recoil and an added feature that uses ammo to power an active camo system, making you nearly invisible to enemies. I didn't use the camo too much and felt it was a mere "smoke and mirrors" feature... rather I enjoyed the massive 120bullet clip, quick reload time and accuracy of this bad boy.
3. Thompson submachine gun - Call of Duty, Mafia, Bioshock + loads of others
The Thompson Submachine Gun, aka the Tommy Gun has gone through various face-lifts over the years, but one thing has always stayed consistent, it rawks as a weapon! Based entirely on the real world counterpart the Tommy has a decent 30ish clip, great accuracy, low kick back and usually reloads rather quickly - something needed in a face paced FPS game.
2. Helghast Assualt Rifle - Killzone

Ahh, we'll start with the awesome news :) Harley Quinn is back, bitches! :D Everyone's favorite little psycho is sporting a look that seems to be a mix of Arkham Asylum Harley and that of classic Red/Black harlequin outfit Harley that we know from her very beginnings. I love it :D I also can't fucking wait for Batman: Arkham City!!! Gahh! lol. I've included a pic (of course) but you can check out the rest somewhere else, or even at Pinksquadron.com ;)
Speaking of PinkSquadron, it's going well :) We've got a growing number of posts on various articles, are nailing down a format for posts, have some interests from various members and even a few staff members now too. So be sure to drop by the site at www.pinksquadron.com or hit up the forums at forum.pinksquadron.com.
**Note - There's an odd glitch every so often that directs the url for pinksquadron to a random google page... it's a domain host problem that we're looking into. So if you get said page, just try again with the www. suffix... that usually fixes it.
So... what's up peeps? Anything new with you? Many blogs have been quite quiet lately, it seems. Maybe everyone is just enjoying summer too much? ;) Hope everyone's summer is going as best it can, that the weather is shining upon you and you're able to catch some time at the beach or something else that rawks about summer in between your busy lives.
I have been... working a lot. Damn summer is hell at times when it comes to work, thanks mostly to tourists who flock around flap their gums like mad... thinking you actually might care ;) Ha, bitter about work much? Yeah :P It's a bit stressful, I honestly can't wait for the fall to arrive :P I am heavily looking into getting into an introductory course for school, which will help quite a bit for when I go do the actual course I want to take. So, I keep that in mind when I'm dealing with the stress of work, keep telling myself it'll all be worth it :P.
I've saved up quite a bit for school, hoping to avoid borrowing money this time around and do it all on my own... but... those plans may be interrupted, as I'm really considering getting a car. I don't own a car of my own atm and would really love the convenience of having my own... soz... why the hell not, eh? Actually, my sis went out and got a new(ish) 2009 Pontiac Wave and it's really made me want to get into gear (ha, pun :P) and get my own vehicle. I'm in the same mind set too, new-ish. Something with low mileage, within a few years of current models etc. Been looking at some Mazda 3's, they're spiffy looking :) We'll see what the future holds.
I'm currently have a great time playing Mafia 2 on my PS3 :) It's a superb game with an atmosphere, characters and story exactly what I was expecting from the title. I loved the first title because of this and can't wait to see how this tale concludes. Gotta ask tho, what's with the random inclusion of Playboy centerfolds as collectibles? :P
I was thinking, the other day, that I prob don't have some of your connected to my various gaming outlets... so why not share and maybe we can play something together sometime? Whether it's on PSN, XBL, Steam or some other service, my username is always hush404 (sometimes with a capitol H) so hit me up with a message as to who you are and we'll see about playing something :P
Besides Batman: Arkham City, the next game that I'm most pumped for?
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
This game just oozes everything that makes me shiver with delight. Set in a future where cyberpunk is king and humans are augmented to the hilt with every damn gadget and tech you can put your mind to, it's art style is just as impressive. For some reason I feel it odd that it's a first person shooter... and that a constant 3rd person view would make much more sense (it's FPS but goes into TPS during melee and other actions). That aside, I have high hopes that it'll reach a narrative close to that shown in something like the anime Ghost in the Shell or the novel Neuromancer (which I finished a little while ago), both of which are the perfect worlds IMO ;)
|Honestly, this scene could be directly from Neuromancer (IMO).|
- StarCraft 2 - great fun, but I keep forgetting I have it, lol.
- It's hellish warm and humid here atm... damn hurricanes coming this weekend
- Recently finished season 1 of Dexter... amazing show, can't wait to continue
- Ordered a bunch of geeky/game t-shirts from jinx, they're awesome :)
- Prototype is fun. I've heard many horrible things about it... but I like it :S
- Which reminds me... why do people hate on games so much? I've enjoyed many a game that seemed to get slammed like crazy.
- Which is exactly why I picked up some mega cheap titles recently. For ~$5 I feel that nearly any game is worth a try.
- Which also reminds me... I saw Dark Void at ebgames for $17... wtf? I know it got "meh" reviews but to have a game drop to that price so quickly? I might have to take advantage of that at some point.
- Games I'm looking forward to this fall/winter seasons: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Enslaved Odyssey to the west, God Eater, Hunted the demon forge, kingdom hearts birth by sleep, Little Big Planet 2, Spiderman Shatted dimensions and vanquish. Lots of other titles for after that too :P
- I recently picked up the 3rd book in the Mass Effect novel series :) I love mass effect.
- Harley Quinn rawks your socks, bitches :D
Till next time.
